- Phrase Search
When you have decided what phrases you should be searching for, the next step is to decide which search possibilities will be suitable. On the basis of this, you must then decide which search services you will use. We shall now look closer at how you search using different types of search services. We will be looking closely at logical operators (according to Boole), truncating, advanced searching and phrase searching. The latter method works as follows:
Are you searching for a name or a certain phrase?
The name of an organization, a society or a governmental department, a full personal name or a specific collection of words that are associated with your subject?
Phrase search is a search possibility needed for this type of query.
The words you are searching for will appear in the exact order you choose. In many search services, you use a quotation mark to denote a phrase. In others, you choose a phrase search as an alternative in a menu, (exact phrase or phrase search), which does not require you to add any quotation marks.
Example:
"Pelle Erövraren", "Svenska Emigrantinstitutet", "foreign languages"
